Description
- Shield to allow Arduino to control a door lock
- Provides easy connection of external RFID reader module to Arduino
- Power pass-through jumper
- Reset button wired through to Arduino reset pin
The Arduino RFID Door Lock Shield allows your Arduino to control a door lock using an electric strike plate and one of a number of commonly-available RFID modules, and is based on the circuit described in the “RFID Access Control System” project in the book “Practical Arduino”.
Connections:
- Manual strike release connection
- Status LED connection
- RFID reader connection
LEDs:
- Power LED: Indicates that 5V is present on the Arduino
- 12V in LED: Shows that an external power source is connected
- 12V out LED: Shows that the door strike output is activated
