STL-06P Lidar Module is the updated version of LD06 Lidar Module, it is an ideal choice if you wish to explore ROS SLAM, Navigation functions based on Lidar. We have tested various Lidar modules, including the PRLidar A1 and LD06, and recommend the STL-06P for the Mini Pupper due to its smaller size.
This LiDAR is designed for a wide range of robotic applications, such as vacuum robots, industrial robots, educational robots, service robots, agriculture robots, and scientific research. It enables robots to create high-resolution maps, avoid obstacles, and become smarter at an affordable cost.
This LiDAR features a Time of Flight (TOF) sensor with high accuracy, offering a 360 degree scanning range for precise results. It utilizes the TOF technique to detect distance within a 12 meter radius range. An infrared laser is emitted and reflected back into the single photon receiving unit after encountering a target object. The time of flight is calculated by measuring the gap between the time of laser emission and reception.
The 360 degree rotation range of this LiDAR allows it to sense its environment with no blind spots, enabling obstacle detection and area mapping. Additionally, it can measure up to 4500 samples of laser ranging per second with a high rotation speed, significantly increasing the mapping speed.
